The U.S. will not guess who is responsible for the “accidents” at Nord Stream, Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin said at a news conference, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, instead, Washington insists on the need to wait for the results of the final investigation. The defense secretary clarified that to date there is “a lot of speculation” about the question of how much damage has been done to the pipeline.
“However, until the official investigation is completed, no one can determine with certainty what exactly happened there,” he opined.
On Monday, Sept. 26, two Russian export pipelines to Europe were attacked. Gas leaks were detected at Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 near Bornholm Island.
